Privacy Policy
The short version: everything stays on your Mac.
Last updated: August 8, 20261. Introduction
Pom (“the app”) is an anti-sleep and focus timer app for macOS, developed and published by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it lives. We designed Pom to work fully offline, so the policy is simple: your data belongs to you and never leaves your device.
2. Data stored on your device
Pom stores the following information locally, using standard macOS storage (Core Data and UserDefaults):
- Focus session records — start time, duration, and the name of the app you focused in (used for Auto Focus and per-app stats).
- Preferences — focus durations, rest themes, sound and volume, shortcuts, and other settings.
- Aggregate statistics computed from the records above, such as your focus heatmap and total deep-work time.
This data is stored only on your Mac, in your user account, and is never transmitted anywhere.
3. What Pom never does
- No analytics, no usage tracking, no crash reporters.
- No advertising and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email or personal identifiers required.
- No network requests — the app works with all connections disabled.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data with anyone.
4. App Store & purchases
Pom is sold through the Mac App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; the developer never sees your payment details. Apple may share anonymized, aggregate download and sales figures with the developer, as described in Apple’s own privacy policy.
5. Permissions & system access
Pom uses standard, public system APIs to keep your display awake and to observe which application is frontmost, so that Auto Focus and per-app stats work. This observation happens locally through system notifications, requires no special permissions, and is never recorded outside your Mac or transmitted anywhere.
6. Your choices
You can clear all focus statistics at any time from Settings, and the change takes effect immediately. Deleting the app removes every trace of its local data from your Mac.
7. Children’s privacy
Pom is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Because the app collects nothing, any future change would only add clarity — not collection.
